Archbishop’s Garden

#ARTICLE_DATE_LETREHOZVA#: 21 February 2013  |  Created: 26 June 2013

The park is situated on the territory bordered by György Klapka and Hadnagy streets.

Before 1990 it was named People's Garden. On the East it is bordered by Eger stream twisting in its shady riverbed. The park was built in the time of bishop Eszterházy, who later fenced off the area and improved the outlook of the garden. The remnants of its fence, the decorative wrought iron gates by Henrik Fazola can be seen even today. At the South-eastern part of the park can be found Dr. Kemény Ferenc Sports Hall functioning as the central sports complex of the town.
