Fazola gates – County Council

#ARTICLE_DATE_LETREHOZVA#: 21 February 2013  |  Created: 17 March 2015

The building of the County Council was built by the designs of Matthisa Gerl in 1749-56.

In the gateway can be found the highlight of the county hall, the wrought iron gates by Henrik Fazola featured by coats of arms and clusters of grapes, standing opposite each other. The one with grapes standing on the left used to be on the second floor between the assembly hall and the staircase. The two gates are of the best works of late Baroque art. The artefacts rich in ornaments and decorative elements resemble beauty of brides' dresses.
